What’s it like to race an XR1200 spec class bike and how does the racing compare to your other events?
The bike is a lot of fun to ride. It compares to riding an XR750 I raced in my dirt track days the power delivery is similar. The racing is really close too because everybody is on the same equipment and it really just comes down to who wants it the most.
What made you decide to race the Vance & Hines XR1200 Series?
I’ve been around Harley-Davidson for my entire life, so it was a no brainer for me to join the series. The bikes look awesome, I knew the racing would be close, and it’s going to bring in a whole new fan demographic.
What do you think of the Vance & Hines XR1200 Series?
So far so good! I was unable to get back into the AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike series for 2011, so the XR1200 series was an open door for me to continue racing at a pro level and keep my face in the paddock. The spec racing is a great concept, and it has produced some incredible racing action all through 2010 and into Daytona this year.
